The Palais des Beaux-Arts de Lille is one of the largest museums of France and the largest museum of fine arts, outside of Paris, in number of exhibited works.

Created in 1792 under the leadership of painter Louis Joseph Watteau, the original museum collection consists of works confiscated from émigrés and religious institutions of the city after the Revolution, including several paintings by Rubens, Van Dyck and Jordaens.

It also includes some major works of David, Goya, Delacroix, Courbet, Corot and Puvis, some of which have marked the history of painting, but also some old and contemporary works of local and regional artists. This results in collections where the Flemish and Dutch parts of the fifteenth and the seventeenth century and French parts of the nineteenth century hold a place in the forefront.

Renovated between 1991 and 1997, the museum also hosts a temporary exhibition room, an auditorium, a library and educational workshops.

With the support of the Municipality of Lille, the cocktail of the conference will be organized in this museum.

The IPA dinner is becoming a tradition. It is the time and place to get together and socialize, make new contacts and meet old friends. And to have some fine food and drinks, too.

This years’ dinner will take us to ‘Le Gymnase’ (7 place Sébastopol, in Lille).
